Inspector did not do any type of investigation as to why there was no water pressure in the house. My friend called Culligan and they were able to walk him through the process to bypass the water softener system to get water running in the house. Without that, we would have been unable to check dishwasher, toilet for leaking, etc. Did not seem sure as to what might have caused wood damage on siding (insect vs weather vs fungal rot). Did not check concrete pillar supports under house for metal sheeting to prevent termites until we asked him to look. He just seemed a little unsure about some things we would assume he would have known to check out.

Erik did an incredible job with the inspection of an 88 year old home in Ardsley Park that I hope to purchase. He spent three hours on the inspection and since I live out of town, he did so with my realtor who actually recommended him. He discovered various safety issues which need to be addressed immediately as well as plumbing and electrical needs that are of concern. Many other items listed in the inspection were cosmetic, but very important to me. His inspection allowed me to craft an Amendment to the Contract to address needed repairs.
The purchase of a home is a major investment to any given person, but especially to one who is soon to retire. I need a home that is based on a sound foundation without unforeseen expenses up front. Erik's inspection helped me to frame the issues of the house to its seller in a very evidence based fashion so that we could reach an amicable decision regarding repairs.

I'm impressed by the thoroughness of the inspection. The inspectors went throughout the property/structure very focused on every aspect. As a section was finished, they explained what items/issues found and categorized them as to their importance (IE: safety, code violation, building/construction practice, etc.). Systems, appliances, structure, plumbing, and electrical were inspected. The inspectors were very professional, and factual. Following the inspection, a report was generated (including pictures of items/issues found) in just a few of hours.
In addition, they researched appliances for possible re-calls, and provided links to organizations compiling re-call information for future use. Their service also provides warranties for several systems which were inspected. This reinforces the thoroughness of their inspection, and provides assurance the systems are as reported.
I would recommend this service to anyone needing a home inspection.

Inspector did not do any type of investigation as to why there was no water pressure in the house. My friend called Culligan and they were able to walk him through the process to bypass the water softener system to get water running in the house. Without that, we would have been unable to check dishwasher, toilet for leaking, etc. Did not seem sure as to what might have caused wood damage on siding (insect vs weather vs fungal rot). Did not check concrete pillar supports under house for metal sheeting to prevent termites until we asked him to look. He just seemed a little unsure about some things we would assume he would have known to check out.

Erik did an incredible job with the inspection of an 88 year old home in Ardsley Park that I hope to purchase. He spent three hours on the inspection and since I live out of town, he did so with my realtor who actually recommended him. He discovered various safety issues which need to be addressed immediately as well as plumbing and electrical needs that are of concern. Many other items listed in the inspection were cosmetic, but very important to me. His inspection allowed me to craft an Amendment to the Contract to address needed repairs.
The purchase of a home is a major investment to any given person, but especially to one who is soon to retire. I need a home that is based on a sound foundation without unforeseen expenses up front. Erik's inspection helped me to frame the issues of the house to its seller in a very evidence based fashion so that we could reach an amicable decision regarding repairs.

I'm impressed by the thoroughness of the inspection. The inspectors went throughout the property/structure very focused on every aspect. As a section was finished, they explained what items/issues found and categorized them as to their importance (IE: safety, code violation, building/construction practice, etc.). Systems, appliances, structure, plumbing, and electrical were inspected. The inspectors were very professional, and factual. Following the inspection, a report was generated (including pictures of items/issues found) in just a few of hours.
In addition, they researched appliances for possible re-calls, and provided links to organizations compiling re-call information for future use. Their service also provides warranties for several systems which were inspected. This reinforces the thoroughness of their inspection, and provides assurance the systems are as reported.
I would recommend this service to anyone needing a home inspection.
